This site provides full text versions of hundreds of federal consumer publications on topics such as cars, money, health, travel, employment, and much more. View them free or purchase printed copies at the online ordering site!

Find a lot of information on automobiles, children's issues, identity theft, homes, credit, and much more.

Social Security Online

Request an estimate of your future Social Security benefits, apply for a new or replacement card, or get information on benefits programs.

Credit Reporting Agencies

The Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) requires each of the nationwide consumer reporting companies – Equifax, Experian, and TransUnion – to provide you with a free copy of your credit report, at your request, once every 12 months.

The three nationwide consumer reporting companies have set up a central website, a toll-free telephone number, and a mailing address through which you can order your free annual report.

The ChexSystems network is made up of member banks and credit unions that regularly contribute information on mishandled checking and savings accounts to a central location. This information is shared among member institutions to help them assess the risk of opening new accounts. You can order a free ChexSystems report online.
